Students need to be well nourished to learn better, and the most important meal is breakfast. However, students rarely have time to have their breakfast. Therefore, this cooking tutorial competition hopes to introduce some breakfast ideas and promote the importance of breakfast in a student’s life.




TASK DESCRIPTIONS

1. Participants work individually.  

2. Participants demonstrate how to prepare one (1) breakfast dish.  

4. Participants create an interesting title for the demonstration.  

5. Participants record themselves doing the demonstration.  

6. Participants must be visible and speak while demonstrating how to prepare the dish.   

7. The duration of the video should be between three (3) and four (4) minutes.  

8. The video must be presented in the most creative way.  

9. The video submitted should include the following information:   

  • What is the name of the breakfast dish?  
  • What are the ingredients used? (Including the nutrients) 
  • What are the steps needed in preparing the dish?  
  • What is the ideal duration time to prepare the dish? 
  • How much is the cost of the dish? 
  • Why is the dish suitable for students? 

10. Each university can submit two videos only.

JUDGING CRITERIA

The cooking video tutorials will be judged on the following criteria:

  • Content & Creativity
  • Language
  • Video Presentation
  • Delivery


1.            There is no entry fee.

2.            Participants must be at the level of CEFR level B1 or B2 or MUET band 3 – 4.5 (attach MUET RESULT-for Malaysian)

3.            Videos must be presented in English language.

4.            The length of each video should not exceed 4 minutes.

5.            Videos must not include any sensitive issues, racist or defamatory content.

6.            Participants must dress appropriately and speak respectfully in the videos.

7.            Participants are not allowed to mention their institution names in the recording.

8.            The content of the submitted work must include SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS (SDGs) – SDG 2 (Zero Hunger) and/or SDG 3 (Good Health & Well-Being)

9.            Plagiarism or copied work from websites or some videos which you have submitted previously will be disqualified.

10.         Visual aids: such as slides, poster, a unique background, sound/music which are relevant and strongly support the video are encouraged.

11.         For video submission, copy the YouTube URL (Public) and paste it into Link/URL sharing site in the entry form.

12.         Entry forms must be completed with correct personal particulars AND attachment of a copy of student’s identification card and MUET result

13.         Completed entries may be submitted through the entry forms starting on the 12th of June 2023 (Monday).

14.         The deadline for submission is on the 16th of June 2023 (Friday) by 5pm.

15.         The judges’ decision is final and will be based on the judging rubric.

16.         The competition winners will be announced during the Final Showcase.

17.         All winners will receive cash prizes, digital certificates and STAR points (IIUM students only)

18.         Participants agree to be bound by the official contest rules and decisions of the judges.

19.         Participants agree to grant the organizer the right to use, reproduce or display the videos for promotional purposes without further compensation or notification.
